Sol Y Viento Mountain Hot Spring Resort: Our Early Summer Experience | annmaziing

There may be times that we still feel the cold breeze of December days but we can no longer argue that, summer is already making its roll! My colleagues and I had ourselves first in line in welcoming the summer as early as now by having a dip in a not-so-cold, a warm and a hot waters. Ahhhm, how ironic with summer. Ayt? hihi

Last Saturday-Sunday, February 4-5, 2017, we drove to one of the promising resorts in Pansol, Calamba, Laguna. Presenting, Sol Y Viento Mountain Hot Springs Resort. Lemme bring you there, bit-by-bit. *wink*

The lobby

The lobby has a very cozy feel. You won’t bother waiting just a bit before checking in.

Situated atop a mountain 1 hour away from the Metro, it is a place that will give you a scenic view of Laguna de Bay and a mountain. Being elevated compared to the other resorts in the area, you will fully experience here a combination of “the sun and the wind”, where they derived the name of the resort “Sol Y Viento”. Here, you will definitely enjoy your stay with a touch of nature’s finesse in relaxing your mind and soul.

It has four swimming pools and one outdoor jacussi with varying temperatures from normal to hot. Several kinds of accommodations are offerred here as well; Cabana, Superior Room, Team Room and Loft Room, making sure that they can offer something that fits your group size. They also have two restaurants and a bar where you can have your tummies filled up.

The place is not yet big enough to make you tired of walking, not until they finish the ongoing construction I guess because more pools and attractions are being built.

It also has a Teambuilding Area, making it catch the eyes of big groups that want to build camaraderie, trust and team work amidst a greenery surrounding. There’s also a zipline facility, owned by a concessionaire, but sadly they seldom operate and usually based on the number of people who wants to try the zipline.

After the exhausting activity, you can have a very relaxing dip to one of its pools. Perfect combination, isn’t?

We got their Team Room which is good for 8 – 10 persons and already includes BUFFET breakfast for our whole group. It’s located at the highest place of the resort I guess because we got tired from climbing the staircase(s).

It’s not a big deal though because I think it also has the most picturesque view and a viewing deck with chairs and tables. Perfect for those who really want a relaxing stay appreciating the view, the sun and the wind.

I think the room itself was a typical kind of room for a large group, good and big enough for us. It has 5 bunk beds large enough that you can sleep comfortably. It’s also air-conditioned and has a TV with cable signal.

We even got to play Jenga!

Its restroom has 3 cubicles: two for showering and one for the toilet. I just don’t like it that only shower curtains serve as covers for each cubicle. I hope they can make it a real door so you can do your thing comfortably even with other people using the restroom with you at the same time. I also hope they can make the trash can a little bigger equal for a large group. Aside from these things, we had a great stay. *thumbs up*

Even the back of our room is equally beautiful!

A 24-hour open pool, combined with its warm and relaxing temperature, you have the freedom to go swimming during the day and night.

Just remember that during weekends, it may get just a bit crowded specially the warm ones, like what we experienced.

But no worries, you can still enjoy your dip.

We had our dinner and breakfast at their Cafe Sabroso which serves Spanish and Filipino (thru Barrio Fiesta Menu) food.

They also have a bar that serves several kinds of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

My most favorite meal was the buffet breakfast because of the vast choices of food. I really had myself full! Gourmet satisfaction early morning it is! For the lunch after we checked out, we had it at Pancake House conveniently located just beside the lobby.

TEAM ROOM – PHP 11,500 (for 8-10 persons)
FOOD – PHP 4,600+ (for 8 persons, dinner 1st day, lunch 2nd day)
TRANSPO (Gas and Toll) – PHP 1,400+
